A Few Words About Kid-Defense

As a police officer, a martial artist, a church pastor, and a father of five children, I feel a great sense of passion about protecting my children and those in my community.   The world we live in today is full of predators just waiting for an opportunity to have their way with our children.   Kid-Defense is a simple offering of techniques that even small children as young as five or six years old can easily learn and use to defend themselves against such predators.

We can never guarantee that every child is going to be perfectly safe or always able to physically fend off an attack, however it should be obvious that when a child learns skills that can be effective in such an event, the odds are raised in favor of safety of the child.

I do not advocate teaching a child to "fight", rather teaching a child how to defend themselves and when it is proper to do so.

For Instance:
( Q ). Under which of the following situations should a child use these skills to physically defend themselves.
A-  When someone wants to take their toy, bicycle, money, or other object.
B-  When someone wants to take THEM, their brother, sister, or friend.

( A ) = B - Physical defense is only proper when life and limb is at risk.

When properly taught to understand the difference between when they SHOULD use physical defense and when they SHOULD NOT, a child will be learning how to defend rather than fight.

RULES OF A TRUE SELF DEFENSE SITUATION:

  1. The BEST defense is not to be there.
  2. When you MUST defend yourself, there is no such thing as a "cheap shot".
  3. The goal is to get away and get help.

In NO WAY are the instructions, techniques, videos, pictures, or any other information from Kid-Defense, implied to work 100% of the time.   Kid-Defense is not liable for injury or safety of any child or adult that uses or attempts to use these techniques.  The parents and guardians of the child are responsible for the ultimate instruction and safety of the child.
